Obituary

Aldona T. (Gumaskas) Morrell, 97, of Salem, NH died peacefully Sunday, March 31 st at her home.

She was born and educated in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Motiejus and Kazimera (Paulekas) Gumaskas. Aldona graduated from Lawrence High School. She was an active member of St. Francis Church in Lawrence and the St. Elizabeth Society. After St. Francis closed, she became a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem. She was a homemaker and she loved decorating her home. Aldona enjoyed many crafts including crocheting and she was a talented seamstress. She was known for her potato salad and blinis.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Amedysis Hospice for the loving care they gave Aldona.

Aldona will be sadly missed by her children, Richard Morrell and wife Janice of Salem, NH and Sharon Hasfjord and husband Bruce of Sandown, NH; her 3 grandchildren, Candice, Kate Aldona and Jared; her 7 great grandchildren, Dominic, Amalia, Nicholas, Zachary, Tyler, Gia and Makenzie and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Morrell and her siblings Mary Winters and Peter Gumaskas.

There are no calling hours. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 3 rd at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem, NH. Burial of the urn will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH 03079.
