Alfred J. Pare, 90, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, NH with his loving family by his side. He was born in Andover, MA, the son of the late Wilfred and Alice (Pelletier) Pare.
Alfred was a lifelong resident of Salem, growing up and educated in Salem. He proudly served his country in United States Army in the Korean Conflict. Alfred worked for over 40 years at the Lawrence Paperboard Company until his retirement.
He was a member of the Salem VFW Post 8546. He was a member and communicant of St. Joseph Church in Salem. Alfred enjoyed gardening, playing 45's and feeding the animals that came to his yard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jeannine (Beaulieu) Pare of Salem, NH; his daughter, Michele Desfosses and her husband Garry of Caribou, ME; his sons Rene Pare and his wife Gail of Rochester, NH and Bruce Pare of Salem, NH; his sisters, Irene Ouellet of Amesbury, MA and Theresa Nicholson of Lisbon Falls ME; 5 grandchildren, Shawn and Ryan Desfosses, Brian and Jennifer Pare and Kellie Rinaldi; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Alfred was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1 st from 10:15AM to 11:15AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon at St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St. Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
