Anna E. (Hartnett) McCabe, 92, of Hollywood, FL, formerly of Windham, NH and Lynn, MA passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019, in Hollywood, FL, following a period of declining health. She was born in Saugus, MA. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn, MA.
Anna previously worked at General Electric in Lynn, MA, and Jordan Marsh in Peabody, MA. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA and from Avco Systems Division in Wilmington, MA.
She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Parish in Windham, NH.
Anna enjoyed skiing and traveling. Her favorite times were those that she spent with family and friends, especially at camp in Windham.
Daughter of the late James and Anna (Ryan) Hartnett, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Matthew M. Jr., her son, Matt McCabe III, her brothers, James, Richard, William, and Edward Hartnett, and her sister Eleanor Coviello. Surviving family members include her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann McCabe, her son, Mark E. McCabe and his wife Doreen, grandchildren, Matthew M. McCabe IV, Mark E. McCabe Jr., Amy Keefe, Erin Bolduc, Lyra Clark, and Alexander Clark, her sister Louise Piercey, and brother-in-law Harold Piercey of Hollywood, FL, her brother-in-laws, Richard Coviello of Lynn, MA, James McCabe of Warren, RI, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Hawk and brother-in-law Richard Hawk of Easton, PA, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thurs., March 14 th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 15 th at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Church, 2 Searles Rd., Windham, NH. Burial will follow in Cemetery on the Plain, Windham, NH.
