Anne (Kiesling) Priestley, a longtime Salem resident and community leader was called home by the Lord on April 18th.

Anne was born on August 22, 1932, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Thomson) Kiesling, and was raised in Andover, MA. She was a graduate of Punchard High School, Essex Agricultural and Managerial School and Northern Essex Community College.

Anne started her career at Western Electric where she met the love of her life, the late Arnold M. Priestley, Jr. with whom she shared 43 loving years. Anne spent the bulk of her career at the Town of Salem working in the Planning; Welfare and Human Resources Departments retiring after 27 years of service to the Town.

Anne was very active in her community. She was a founding member of the Salem Rams Booster Club and performed in its annual Minstrel Shows; Salem Lady Lioness; Salem Lions; Recreation Advisory Committee; Salem Blue Devils Booster Club; Salem GOP along with numerous other volunteer activities. She served on the Board of Trustees and was an active member of Hannah Tenney United Methodist Church.

After her retirement, Anne served as a CASA volunteer from 1997 to 2002 dedicated to helping children in need; Anne served in the NH House of Representatives from 1998-2010 and 2012-16; Anne was named a Melvin Jones Fellow by Lions International for her dedication to humanitarian service and was awarded the Roy-Sununu GOP award.

Anne loved spending time with her family. She attended any and all sports activities and recitals involving her family, hosted every Holiday gathering and was always eager to lend a hand for babysitting, performing pickup service of kids at sports practice and pet sitting. She never said no.

Anne will be sadly missed by her children, Arnold M Priestley, III of Madison, NH; Cathy Ann Stacey of Salem, NH and Scott G. Priestley of Windham, NH; her nine grandchildren, Jaime and the late Matthew Priestley; Kacey Crawford; Kathleen and Daniel Stacey; Kristopher, Mikael, Scott "JR" and Kameron Priestley and her five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, John "Jackie" Kiesling and daughter-in-law Swan K. Priestley.

The family wishes to extend its gratitude and appreciation to the caring staff at Rockingham County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brentwood NH for the thoughtful care they provided to our mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's name may be made to E.F.F.O.R.T.S, C/O Rockingham County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 117 North Road, Brentwood NH 03833.

Because of the current situation, services will be private for the family. The service will be livestreamed on our website on Friday, April 24 ^th at 11:00 AM. The live stream will appear once we go live, in the lower right section of our website at douglasandjohnson.com. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover, MA. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
