Obituary

Armand R. Ward, Jr., 71, of Pelham, NH passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, MA with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Haverhill, a son of the late Sheila (Sullivan) Cox and Armand R. Ward, Sr.

Mr. Ward grew up in Salem, NH, attended Salem schools and graduated from Salem High School.  He had two main careers in his life, he owned and operated Granite State Propane in Salem and later became an adult home care provider.  Mr. Ward was a fan of all sports, but NASCAR was his favorite.  He loved his classic cars as well and trips to Foxwoods with his wife; Lisa.  He volunteered at the Salem Boys and Girls Club.  Mr. Ward treasured being a husband, father and Pepe and so loved his family and holiday get together's.

He is survived by his children; Cheri Breault and husband Paul O., Jr. of Dracut, MA, Julie Strangman and husband Scott of Pelham, Suzanne Ward of Pelham and Armand R. Ward, III and wife Kellie of Hooksett, NH.  He is also survived by his grandchildren; Sarah, Alex, Becky, Hunter, Connor, Jon, Emma and Austin and by his siblings; Linda Flessas and partner Raymond LaCroix of Lawrence, MA, Theresa Ward and partner Malcolm Burns of Haverhill, MA, Russell Ward and wife Sue of Goffstown, NH, Sheila Ward of Hudson, NH, James Ward and wife Sue of Ocala, FL, George Ward of Salem, NH, William Ward of Manchester, NH, Robin Duncan of Waynesville, NC and Warrie Ward of New Hampshire as well as by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his beloved childhood sweetheart and wife of 47 years; Lisa V. (Chute) Ward in 2019 and by his three sisters; Juliette Jordan, Sandra Pearl and Michelle Bourassa.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27th at 10:30am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery, 68 Old Bridge Street, Pelham where he will once again join the love of his life; Lisa.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
