Arthur "Cal" D'Auteuil, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.

He grew up in Lawrence, MA. Cal was a proud graduate of Essex Agricultural High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Northeastern University. He carried a lifelong curiosity and hands-on approach to learning, which shaped both his career and his many passions.

Cal had a deep love for the outdoors and the ocean. He spent countless hours deep sea fishing and was especially proud of his experiences tagging and releasing blue sharks in support of conservation efforts. He also enjoyed deer hunting, running, and tending to his garden, where he found peace and satisfaction in nurturing what he grew.

A true jack-of-all-trades, Cal had a natural talent for working with computers and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need of technical support. Friends and family alike knew they could count on him to fix just about anything.

Cal was also known as a master of the grill, bringing people together with his love of cooking and sharing meals. Whether hosting a backyard cookout or preparing a simple dish, he took great pride in feeding those he loved.

He will be remembered for his generosity, his quiet strength, and his willingness to help others. Cal leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Cal is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carline (Desrochers) D'Auteuil of Salem, NH, his 3 children, Michael D'Auteuil and wife Sue of Port Charlotte, FL, Cheryl Castagnino and husband Joe of Manchester, NH, and Monica Kellard and husband Kevin of Attleboro, MA, his 7 grandchildren, Adam, Keith, Dillon, Marissa, Kayla, Jordan, Delaney, his 5 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Caleb, Lincoln, Myles, and Peyton, and several nieces and nephews.

Cal was predeceased by his siblings, Cecile McKinney, Annette Berry, and Jerry D'Auteuil, as well as his grandson Ryan D'Auteuil.

Cal's family would like to give a big thank you to the staff at Greystone Farm's Assisted living for all their loving care.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
