Longtime Salem resident Barbara Wilay, 66, died October 6, 2019.  Born in Lawrence, MA Barbara was the daughter of the late Howard and Joan Sachs. Barbara was a graduate of Tenney High School in Methuen, MA.  She continued her education and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Endicott College. For many years, Barbara worked diligently to help ease the pain of others as a nurse at Lawrence General Hospital.

Barbara enjoyed exploring the coastline, cheering for the Red Sox and visiting with friends and loved ones. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Martin Wilay, daughters Lyn Paolino and husband Barry, Jillian Wilay and Jane Prescott and her husband Ben and her two grandchildren, Maddy and Ellie.  Barbara is also survived by her brothers Paul and Michael Sachs; and several nieces & nephews.

At her request, no service will be held. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of your choosing in her name.  Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
