Brian Bo Gidley, 70, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill after a courageously fought battle. A life-long resident of Lawrence, Brian was an accomplished drummer at the age of 12. He was a member of the Lawrence Drum & Bugle Corps in the 80's as well as The Pontiacs and The Chieftains. Brian attended Lawrence High School and the Berklee School of Music. He was also The LHS Band Percussion Instructor and Teacher. He also gave private drum lessons. His career started as the drummer in the backup band "Organ Factory" for the Doors 1966-1969. He played in several local bands including Hombre, Slaughterhouse, Joe Martin Trio, Sunset, Band 2000, Dazzle and Flashbax. His last band was with Joey Dee and the Beat Brothers. He was an avid model plane and ship builder and vintage drum restorer. His passion was his drums. Brian will be deeply missed by all the musicians and friends who knew him
Brian was predeceased by his father; Albert, his mother; Jackie, a brother; Al and by his sister; Pam Gidley. He is survived by a daughter, brothers and countless friends and loved ones.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside ceremony at The Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Railroad St., Methuen, MA on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 9:00am.
