Carol A. (Downs) Kaslow, 77, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA. She was born in Lawrence, MA, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Marion (Stevens) Downs.
Miss Downs grew up in Lawrence and graduated from St. Mary High School. She was a communicant of St. Monica Parish in Methuen where she married William J. Kaslow in October of 1959. Mrs. Kaslow worked at Honeywell-Bull in Lawrence for 17 years. She enjoyed swimming, sewing, playing bingo and watching football, especially the Patriots games. Mrs. Kaslow loved her winter home in Florida and enjoyed all the family activities with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years; William J. Kaslow of Salem, two daughters; Nancy Burke of Haverhill and Diane Ward of Salem, six grandchildren; Adam, Mathew, Andrew, Stephanie, Troy and Nicole, two great grandchildren; Haley and Dylan and by her sister; Susan Markievitz. She was predeceased by her brother; Robert Whiteside and her sister; Patricia A. Rodewald.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30am in St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, 130 N. Lowell St., Methuen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
