Carol Ann
Samowski-Kater
d. Apr 10, 2023
Salem
Carol A. (Misenti) Samowski-Kater, 83, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late James M. and Amelia D. (Stella) Misenti.
Carol was devoted to her family and her church. She worked for many years for Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem where she held many roles, including Director of Finance and CCD. Carol was a member of Quota International and had been involved in her husband Ronald's Marine Corp League in Lawrence. If she wasn't at her grandchildren's events (she never missed one), she could be found shopping at the mall or ordering a coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. Carol found great joy in giving gifts, decorating for the holidays, hosting parties, and getting to know everyone who walked through the church doors. She was social and never wanted to miss an opportunity for celebration or spending time with her friends and family. Of her many great qualities, she will most be remembered for her ability to make everyone, from family to someone she just met, feel loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Branca and her husband Michael of Sandown, NH, her son, James Samowski and his wife Gerriann of Salem, and her step-daughter, Sharon Zacharias and her husband Richard of Methuen. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Christine Clinton and her husband Patrick, Shane Branca, Courtney Zacharias and Kaleigh and Shannon Samowski. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Kater, in 2012.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 10:30am to 12:30pm in Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Thursday at 12:30pm in the church. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mary Queen of Peace, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem, NH 03079.
