Carolyn L. Scott, 76, of Methuen, MA passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in the Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dayton, OH, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Dayton.
Carolyn grew up in Ohio and moved with her family to the New England area when she was 15. She met her future husband; Arthur E. Scott, Sr. while working at the Lawrence Made Shoe Factory. She had also worked for over eight years as a food server for Edgewood Retirement Home in N. Andover, MA. Carolyn enjoyed car travel, taking trips up north and especially camping up in Twin Mountain, NH. She was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn was a very proud mother of two boys and was a devoted care giver to her son; Arthur, Jr. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren's activities, especially when they went bowling. The bond she shared with her daughter in law; Michelle was an unbreakable bond, she was blessed with a daughter she never had.
She is survived by her husband; Arthur E. Scott, Sr. of Methuen, two sons; Arthur E. Scott, Jr. of Methuen and Dean L. Scott and his wife Michelle of Lawrence, MA. She is also survived by two grandsons; Tyler and Zachary Scott, by her sister; Patricia Santore of Michigan, by her nieces; Laurie Schroeder and Nikki Chagnon and her husband Jerry, by her nephew; Craig Rensler, her great-niece; Kelly Frazier and her husband DJ and great nephew; Shane Rauschenberg and also by several other nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her brothers; Charles Dayton and Samuel Dayton, by her sisters; Nancy Dayton, Virginia Dayton, Elizabeth Tesoro and husband Joseph, Mildred Dayton and Norma Jean Dayton, by her nephews; Hoppy Rauschenberg and Randy Tesoro, by her great-nephew; Joey Tesoro, by her niece; Christine Rensler and by her great-niece; Billie Rae Rauschenberg.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 31 st at 11:00am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics MA, 512 Forest St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
