Charlene E. (McKay) Gauvin, 70, of Salem, NH passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Holy Family Hospital, in Methuen, MA. She was born in Methuen, MA, a daughter of the late Charles and Jessie (Allen) McKay.

Charlene worked at the Halcyon House in Methuen for many years. She was a long time parishioner at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish, in Salem, NH. She loved to travel, going to Bermuda, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Pittsburg, NH. Charlene also enjoyed her Pokeno nights, playing cards, bingo and doing crafts. Her favorite thing was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Charlene is survived by her husband; Jacques Gauvin of Salem, NH, her sons: John and Amanda of Haverhill, MA, Patrick and his wife Judith of Brockton, MA and Bobby of Nashua, NH, her daughters; Lisa and Tom of Lawrence, MA and Colleen and her husband Pat of Sandown, NH and by 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; John McKay and his wife Elizabeth of VA and Patrick McKay and his wife Maura of Methuen, MA, her sisters Sandra Smith and her husband Larry of Nottingham, NH, Joyce Wagner and her husband Robert of Little River, SC, Kathy Richardson of Manchester, NH and Patricia Dana and her husband Vito of Londonderry, NH and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother; Chucky McKay and her granddaughter; Melanie.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A funeral service will be at 12:00 pm, immediately following the calling hours in the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
