Christopher "Moon" J. Mullen, 62, a longtime resident of Salem, NH passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Woburn, MA, a son of the late John T. and Margaret T. (O'Connor) Mullen.

Mr. Mullen proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard for nine years. He was a member of the Lowell Elks Club and former member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to fish, golf, play cards and take trips to Foxwoods. Mr. Mullen enjoyed spending his time with his children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews and he LOVED to make bonfires. "It's not a bonfire if you can't see it from the moon!"

He is survived by his lovely wife Kathy (Mock) Mullen of Salem, three sons; Christopher J. Mullen, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Pelham, NH, John R. Mullen and his wife Kelly of Tuftonboro, NH and Patrick M. Mullen and his fiancé Stephanie Deveau of Londonderry, NH. He is also survived by his two granddaughters; Naomi and Maddie, by two brothers; Peter Mullen and his wife Mary of Salem and Matthew Mullen of Thetford, VT, by five sisters; Kathy Guicho of Lawrence, MA, Maggie Mullen of Lawrence, Carol Sadoques and her husband Mark of Thetford, Julie Mullen and her husband Tofer Sharp of Thetford, Ginny Lehar and her husband Steve of Manchester by the Sea, MA and also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother; John Mullen.

Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Wednesday in St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA.
