Daniel E. Britt of Pelham, N.H passed away quietly at his home on Wednesday August 11,2021. He passed with his son Brian, beloved dog Zorro and close friends Grady and Davey in attendance.

Born June 21,1954, son of Edward J Britt and Helen F. (Russell) Britt. He attended and graduated Lexington Mass public schools. Dan joined the Navy in August of 1973 and proudly served for four years. He completed his career as an E5 Ordinance Mechanic.

In 1982 Dan married Peggy (Phoenix) Britt of Chelmsford, MA and together in 1988, lovingly welcomed their son Brian E. Britt.

Dan was an employee of the Rockingham Racetrack in Salem, NH for 25+ years. He was an assistant starter, driver for the starting gate, and in charge of turf track maintenance. His turf was well known in the racing community for being one of the best. He also spent time working at Suffolk Downs during the winter. The Rockingham track was a very big part of his life. Upon Dan's retirement, he loved planting and tending his large vegetable garden and selling his produce locally. He also enjoyed splitting and selling firewood.

He was well known for his culinary talents and you would often find him sharing a meal with his many friends and family on football Sundays. Dan was quick to laugh and had many stories he loved to share with a captive audience. His house, "The Farm," was well known for having all kinds of visitors and shenanigans. Everyone has a story to tell about "The Farm" and Dan. He was sometimes rough around the edges but always known to have the biggest heart around.

We will miss him very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Annmarie of New York, Linda of New Hampshire, and beloved dog Blackie.

Dan is survived by his son Brian Britt, brothers Allan Weed and Bill Lehan, sister Karen (Lehan) Lalonde, and former wife Peggy Britt.

There will be a celebration of his life on August 28 ^th from 2pm-6pm at the American Legion Post #100 in Pelham, NH. (32 Windham Rd)

A burial service will take place at the New Hampshire Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on August 30 ^th at 10:30am.
