Daniel H. Reilly, 67, of Hampstead, passed away on September 30, 2018 surrounded by his beloved family and close friends.

Born in Methuen, MA to the late John Daniel Reilly and A. Eileen (Foley) Reilly, Danny grew up in Salem, NH. He was a graduate of Haverhill High and Haverhill Trade School.

As a Master Electrician, Danny owned and operated D & H Electric Co. and served as the Building and Electrical Inspector in Newton and Salem. Before he became ill, he also worked at Canobie Seafood, Inc.

A man of strong character, Danny was quiet, but when he spoke, people listened. He had many good, life-long friends, including Steve Espinola, Scott Tilton, Mike Fraser, Mike DiBartolomeo, Dickie Smith, Billy Thistle and many more. He enjoyed being a member of the Salem-Derry Elks. He was genuine in his love of family and friends, and would be glad to help at a moment's notice.

If you were looking for Danny, you would find him enjoying time with his adored granddaughters, Megan and Jessica, tinkering around his garage, enjoying cookouts in his yard, cooking grand dinners at holidays, or maintaining his beloved family cottage on Salisbury Beach.

Danny is survived by his daughter Pamela Ruth Reilly Parolise and her husband Gregg J. Parolise, grandchildren Megan R. and Jessica J. Parolise, sister Elaine Lavoie, brothers Jack and Mark Reilly, nieces and nephew Cynthia Rucker, Raoul Lavoie, Eileen Halter, Patricia McLellan and Jayne Gagne, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ann McLellan.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
