Dr. James Douglas MacLeod Moore, of Salem, NH and summer resident of Lake Annis, NS passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 in Boston, MA.

Dr. Moore was born March 12, 1944 in New York City, NY the son of the late James Alanson Moore, MD and Eleanor Anne MacLeod.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Kyoko Seki Moore; his 2 children, Eleanor MacLeod Moore of Philadelphia, PA and James Alanson Moore and his wife Emma Byrne Levenson, MD of New Orleans, LA; his 2 grandchildren, River MacLeod Moore and George Kenzo Moore; his sisters Eleanor (Mrs. Richard J. Sterne) and Joan (Mrs. Nicholas Biddle Jr.)

Dr. Moore attended Milbrook School in Milbrook NY, Davidson College in Davidson, NC, and Auburn University in Auburn, AL where he earned his PhD in Nuclear Physics.

Dr. Moore owned and operated Accelerator Systems in Atkinson, NH where they designed and built custom electronics for the ion implantation industry.  He was a practicing 7th Degree Black Belt in Uechi-Ryu Karate Do studying with Buzz Durkin's Karate School.  He loved sailing his sunfish, always had a vast collection of projects he was working on, and most of all being "Gaga" to George and River.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 5:00pm June 12, 2025 followed by a funeral service at 5:30pm at St. David's Episcopal Church 231 Main St. Salem, NH. Burial will be a private ceremony at Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery in Yarmouth, NS
