Obituary

Earl W. Morris, 87, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

He was born on July 27, 1932 and raised in Charlestown, MA, the son of the late Earl and Evelyn (Manning) Morris. He graduated from Charlestown High, later graduating from engineering school.

At age 17, he worked at the Boston swan boats. Earl then proudly served his country as an electrician in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He later worked in various government companies on military projects. When asked what he did for work, his reply was "going to the moon".

Earl was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed dancing, antique cars, traveling in his motor home, playing pool and cards, spending his winters in Venice, FL, and especially enjoyed following the stock market.  He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marie (Covino) Morris, son David and his wife Nancy, and his daughter Deborah and her husband Anthony Vibert. He was the proud grampa to five grandsons, Christopher and wife, Deborah, Anthony, Tyler, Matthew, and Troy and great grandfather to Isabella. He was predeceased by his brother Robert and his sister Jean Hafferty who passed the day after Earl.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 18 th from 9:30 – 11:30 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
