Edward J. Krauss, 93, of Salem, NH passed away on Friday, April 30 ^th at the Lahey Clinic.

He was born in Methuen, MA the son of the late Henrietta (Warner) and Edward Krauss. He served in the Merchant Marine during WW II. He was a self employed carpenter.  Edward was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret E. (Young) Krauss of Salem; his sister Bernice Smith of Maine; 2 grandsons, Danny and Shawn and several nephews and nieces. Edward was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen, his brother, Richard and his sister, Barbara.

Visitation will be on Wed., May 5 ^th from 3:00 – 5:00 PM  at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 9:00 AM  at St. Joseph Church, 42 Main St., Salem, NH.  Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, 111 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH.
