Obituary

Eleanor Goulkin (Grande, Gagne), 89, of Dracut, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23.  She was the beloved wife of her second husband, the late Theodore Goulkin, with whom she shared many devoted years of marriage.

Born and raised in Lowell, MA, Eleanor was known for her warm heart, kind spirit, sense of humor and dedication to her family and community. She worked for the MaCom Corporation in Lowell for many years, always exhibiting her strong work ethics and friendly contagious smile.

Eleanor found great joy in music and fellowship. She sang in the choir at St. David's Church in Salem, NH and was an active member of the Salem Senior Center as well as the Salem Senior Singers, where she formed many lasting friendships through her love of singing. She was also a piano player and an avid craft maker!

She was a devout Catholic and she loved her family and friends. She had a love of and strong connection to her family's pets including dogs, cats, and bunnies.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Kenneth Grande and wife Roxanne of Sweetwater TN and Joseph Grande and his fiancée Jennifer Crowe of Manchester NH; her daughters, Marie Gagne and husband George of Pelham NH , Linda Arruda and husband Wayne of Pelham NH; her daughter in law Wendy Grande of Fairless Hills PA; her brother, John Harrington of Nashville TN; along with her cherished grandchildren Patrick Murphy (Kristen), Timothy Murphy, Kayla Campaiola (Michael), Jimmy Grande (Mikaela), Ashley Grande, Katie Grande, Allie Grande, Emily Lupo, Candace Wallace (Paul) and Eric Grande. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Eleanor is predeceased by her son Guy Grande III (Junior) who passed in 2024, her brothers Billy Harrington and Ronald Gagne, and her first husband Guy P Grande.

The family would like to express sincerest gratitude to two special friends and caregivers, Janet Breen of Dracut MA and Melisa DeMauro of Tyngsboro MA. as well as appreciation to Sunny Acres Rehab and Nursing Care in Chelmsford MA.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 1st from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
