Ernest Paul Jr., 87, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 14th at Salemhaven Rehab.

Ernie grew up in Salem, the oldest of seven born to the late Ernest Paul, Sr., and Emma (Silva) Paul.   He graduated from Woodbury High School, and retired at age 70 from Holloway Mercedes-Benz of Manchester NH. Ernie was an avid snowmobiler for many years.  He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Ernie was a talented handyman who could fix anything.

Ernie will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lorraine (Valley) Paul of Salem, NH; his children, Brian Paul and his wife Ruth of Derry, NH and Sharon Gendron and her husband Rick of Salem, NH; his siblings, Diane Bannister, Susan Morneau, Theresa Gordon and her husband Louie, and Virginia Antonellis and her husband Jim; his 3 grandchildren, Jenna Foldyna and her husband Michal, Kevin Paul and his fiancée Mayara, and Hallee Gendron. He was also blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Sophie and Leo Paul, and Avery and Madelyn Foldyna, who all affectionately called him "Old Papa."  Ernie was predeceased by his parents and two of his six sisters, Elaine McPherson and Patricia Cote.  He will be missed by many wonderful family and friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his faithful companion, Bandit.

The family extends its appreciation to the staff at Salemhaven Rehab that cared for him during his last days.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH. Memorial contributions in Ernie's name may be sent to the Salemhaven Resident Council Fund, 23 Geremonty Dr. Salem, NH 03079.
