Evelyn L. (Ericksson) Gordon of Methuen, MA (formerly of Salem, NH) passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023, at the age of 86 after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Gordon.

Evelyn was born on July 30, 1936 in Boston, MA to Carl and Hilda Ericksson and attended Belmont Public Schools.  She graduated from Belmont High School in 1954.

When Evelyn was 13 years old, she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Gordon.  They met at a country store near Millville Lake. A lavender bike that Dick was riding caught her attention.  They became friends and began dating through high school. They were married while Dick was in the Army and eventually settled down in Salem, NH where they raised their three daughters: Diane, Doreen, and Kim.

Evelyn was a devoted, lifelong member of Pleasant Street United Methodist Church. She served on many committees including the Education Committee, Pastor-Parish Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She also coordinated the prayer chain for many years.  In addition to this, she was active in the Rockingham County Christian Women's Connection and served as a Girl Scout leader for 10 years.

She loved spending time with her family, including the summer vacations spent with them at Newfound Lake. Inviting extended family and friends to her annual Christmas gathering gave her much joy. She also enjoyed watching TV and her favorites were Hallmark movies, cooking shows and game shows. Evelyn loved nature and the changing seasons- especially spring, with its promise of rebirth. It reminded her of God's promise of eternal life.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Gordon.  She is survived by her daughters, Diane Gagnon and husband Dan of Methuen, MA, Doreen Reynolds and husband Steve of Derry, NH and Kim Gordonsmith and her husband Chris of Lawrence, MA.  She also leaves her 6 grandchildren, Jeff, Katie, Kenny, Keith, Julia, and Cole along with her brother-in-law Louis and his wife Theresa of Salem, NH, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 10 ^th from 10 - 11 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am at the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Evelyn's name to Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, 8 Pleasant Street, Salem, NH 03079.
