Francis Chagnon, 80, of Salem, NH passed away at his home from cancer, surrounded by his family on March 22nd after a period of declining health.

Frank grew up in Lawrence, MA. He served his country in the U.S. Army for several years and fought in the Vietnam War.  Frank was a truck driver for Compugraphic/AGFA for 20 years before changing careers. He then worked as the head custodian for Lawrence Public Schools up until his retirement. Frank loved to go fishing as often as possible and enjoyed vacationing in Kingston, MA every year as it was his favorite place to be.

Frank will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 48 years, Brenda Chagnon; his daughter, Helen Chagnon, her husband Matthew Hammond, and his granddog, Frances; his brother, Joseph Chagnon and his wife, Doreen; his sister, Mary Chagnon; his sister-in-law, Linda Clifton and her husband, Chris; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 6 siblings: Arthur Chagnon, Doris Dupeé, Raymond Chagnon, Paul Chagnon, Peter Chagnon, and Cecile Chagnon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
