George Boyd, 68, of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA following a lengthy illness. He was born in Kyoto, Japan, a son of the late Francis and Kikuko (Yashimura) Boyd.

Mr. Boyd liked to go deep sea fishing, was interested in antique cars and was a member of the Danvers Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. He was a quiet man yet was known to be a fun guy and enjoyed teasing others.  He was also a hard worker and had been a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #4 for over 40 years.  Mr. Boyd was a reserved and humble man who was very pragmatic and down to earth.  He was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend, everything in his life revolved around his family.  Mr. Boyd always put his son first in his life.

He is survived by his wife; Carol Beattie of Salem, his son; Matthew D. Boyd and his wife Lisa Marie of Salem, his grandson; Travis Matthew Boyd of Salem, his brother; Joseph Boyd of Grenada Hills, CA and by his dear friend; Richard Wright, his wife Janet and their son; Marcus of Wenham, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem, NH.  Interment will be held at a later date.
