George E. Hawksley, 68 of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his home. He was born in Farmington, ME, a son of the late Robert and Anna (Remeika) Hawksley.

Mr. Hawksley proudly served his country as a combat veteran of the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam war. He volunteered for the difficult duty of retrieving his fallen comrades from the battlefields, a duty that affected him profoundly. Upon his discharge he went to work for the U.S. Post Office. He was very active in sports and enjoyed taking his sons to sporting events, concerts, skiing and working on cars. Mr. Hawksley was a very personable man, a people person. He also enjoyed his time spent country line dancing.

He is survived by his sons; Andrew R. Hawksley, Eric Hawksley and Keith Hawksley, his four grandchildren and his siblings; Ann-Marie Sears, Edward Hawksley, Donald Hawksley and Joan Connearney. He was predeceased by his son; Brad Hawksley and by his former wife; Nancy Ann Pineau.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial with military honors will follow.
