George MacLean, 73, of Salem, NH passed away suddenly at the Lahey Clinic on Sept. 4th, 2024.

Born in Lawrence, MA, George was the son of the late Yvonne and George MacLean. George grew up in Methuen where he attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel Grammar School and Tenney High School.  George proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was an active member and Chaplain of the VFW, Post 8546 in Salem. He was also a member of the DAV and the American Legion.

George enjoyed fishing, gardening and coin collecting. George is survived by his sister, Yvonne Paplaskas and her husband Raymond of Methuen, MA; his nephews and niece, Daniel Neubert and his wife Mary, Catherine Jackson and her husband Albert, and Michael Neubert and his wife Michelle, 8 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece.  He is also survived by many cousins. George was predeceased by his wife, Mary Anne MacLean.

Visitation will be Friday, September 13th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.  In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be made to:  Salem, NH VFW Post 8546, PO Box 2352, Salem, NH 03079.
