Gloria
Carpenito
d. Sep 16, 2025
Hampton
Gloria Doris Carpenito, age 95 of Exeter, NH peacefully passed away on Tuesday September 16, 2025 at The Webster at Rye Memory Care Facility in Rye NH. Gloria was born on April 17, 1930 in Nashua NH, the daughter of the late Leo and Rosalie Archambault. She was raised and educated in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1948. Upon graduation, she went to work as an account receivable clerk for Nashua Corporation and spent the remainder of her career in the accounting field. She met the love of her life Philip (Carpy) A Carpenito in 1954 and was married in 1955. They were together for 65 wonderful years until Philip's passing in 2020. They moved to Salem NH in 1958 and together they raised 3 children, Philip L., Anne Marie and Richard A. They resided in Salem for 57 years and relocated to Exeter NH in 2015 to be closer to their daughter Anne Marie Galanis.
Gloria had many positive attributes none greater than devotion to her family. She worked hard to ensure her children had every opportunity, emphasizing the importance of education, commitment, respect for others and integrity. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Joseph's Parish and the Women's Sodality.
Gloria had many interests; she was an avid reader and knick-knack collector. She loved music and singing and sang with various groups over the years. She enjoyed knitting baby blankets, mittens and sweaters for her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was a member of the Salem Women's Club where she held the office of Treasurer for many years. Upon retirement, Gloria and Philip traveled extensively across North America and Europe. She maintained scrapbooks of their travels and would share stories whenever friends or family came to their home for a visit.
She was a very engaged grandmother and rarely missed a Saturday morning recreation league basketball game, dance recital, cheerleading competition or an opportunity to spend time watching her granddaughters grow – and always passing along an inciteful anecdote. She was very proud of her granddaughters and that her legacy of maximizing opportunity had extended beyond her own children and had been passed on to the next generation. Gloria became a great grandmother in 2021.
Gloria is survived by her children, Philip L and his wife Roxanne (Lowe) of Ball Ground GA, Anne Marie Galanis and her husband Ward of Hampton NH, Richard A. of Los Angeles CA; granddaughters Felicia and her husband Stephen Votta of Roswell GA, CPT Gabrielle Carpenito (USA – Active) of Fayetteville NC, great granddaughters Oliva and Charlotte Votta of Roswell GA, a brother Gerald Archambeault of Charlotte NC, and over 20 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Roland Archambault and his wife Carole of New Boston NH.
The Carpenito family would like to recognize The Webster at Rye caregivers for the outstanding care and compassion they showed Gloria while she was a resident.
