Harold C. Ciriello, age 90, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at his home in Salem, NH.  He was born on September 4, 1933, in Boston, MA to loving parents, Aida (Nazzaro) and Harold J. Ciriello of Boston, MA. He grew up in Belmont, MA where he graduated from Belmont High School.

After graduating, he served his country in the United States Navy, during the Korean War. He loved to tell stories of his time on the U.S.S. Lake Champlain aircraft carrier and his travels in the Mediterranean. While on leave, he met his sweetheart Joan "Billie" Baker Ciriello, of Bronx, NY while roller skating. They married on March 27, 1954, and were 4 weeks from celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.

Settling down in Belmont, as newlyweds, they planned their future. They found their forever home in Salem, NH where they have resided for over 55 years.  He was a dedicated and hard-working man.  He proudly retired from Greyhound Bus after 30 years on the road which gave him more time to spend with family and friends.

He loved spending time with his friends and family and looked forward to Pinochle night. For over 80 years he remained dear friends with Mark Cirolo, Nick Rizutto, and Frank Nakasian, of Belmont, MA.  He also enjoyed thoroughbred racing and Rockingham Park where you could find him with his old Greyhound buddy, Austin "Choppy" Riacioppi enjoying a day at the races and smoking cigars. When he wasn't with friends or family you could find him with his companion Daisy.  He loved to take her on long walks.  He then became a dog walker and spoiled his furry friend Gus with treats he would hide along their walks.

When it came to family, his brothers were his best friends.   He is predeceased by his younger brothers Edwin Ciriello of Florence, MA and Robert Ciriello of Hanover, MA. Nothing brought more joy to him than spending time with his brothers. They loved to get together and would make you laugh until your ribs hurt. The love they had for each other was immeasurable.

More than anything he loved his wife and three children. He is deeply missed by his beloved wife Billie, his daughter Alane Ciriello and partner George Pendleton of Groton, MA, and his son James and wife Jean (Tisbert) Ciriello (of Salem, NH. He is predeceased by son John Ciriello, also of Salem, who passed away in 2020.  Affectionately called "Pops", he looked forward to time spent with his three granddaughters, Elizabeth (Ciriello) and her husband Jeff Lanaville of Kingston, NH, Jennifer Ciriello and her partner Devon O'Connell of Pilot Mountain, NC, and Stephanie (Ciriello) and her husband Brandon Carter of Gilford, NH. He was also a great- grandfather to Parker, and Paxton Lanaville and loved when they would visit.  He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Bobbi Ciriello of Florence, MA, Julie Ciriello of Hanover, MA, and his dear cousins Arlene Giamo of Winthrop, MA and Alton and Annamae Ciriello of Boston, MA as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Ciriello family would like to take to thank the doctors and nurses who took such care of him during his illness. A special thank you to Rebecca, of Home Hospice.  Her compassion was deeply felt by the family, and we are forever grateful.
