Obituary

Helen D. (Kobrenski) Koczat, 97, of Methuen, MA died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 24 th at Nevins Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born and educated in Lawrence, MA the daughter of the late Aniela (Krawiec) and John Kobrenski. Helen worked at Western Electric in the repair department for over 27 years. She was a member of St. Lucy's Parish, formerly Holy Trinity Church in Methuen, MA, the Third Order of St. Francis, the Julian Stopyra Post Ladies Auxiliary in Lawrence, MA and the Methuen Senior Center.

Helen was devoted to her family. Her favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and bingo, going to Foxwoods and doing Japanese Bunka embroidery. She was an enthusiastic participant in a football pool and she was often a winner. Helen was a kind and loving women and she will be missed by all those that knew her.

Helen will be sadly missed by her sons and daughters in law, Robert and Shelly Koczat and James and Diane Koczat, all of Salem, NH; her brother, Francis "Kobby" Kobrenski of Methuen, MA; her 4 grandchildren, Tracey Gingras and husband Rob, Kathy Mota and husband Marco, Daniel Koczat and Kristen Koczat; her 12 great grandchildren, Madison, McKenzie, Kaelyn, Alexis, Jack, Sofie, Hope, Georgie, Jase, Grady, Olivia and Abby and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sigmund "Ziggy" Koczat and her siblings, Joe, Eddie, Ted and Pauline.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 29 th from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Lucy Parish, 254 Merrimack St. Methuen, MA 01844. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ma K's name may be made to: Friends of Salem, New Hampshire Recreation, Inc. 1 Sally Sweets Way, Salem, NH.
