Helene Yvonne (Gaudreau) Ducharme, 89, of Methuen, MA was called Home to be with our Lord on March 30th, 2025.
She was born June 19, 1935 in Wells River, Vermont to Armand and Marie Rose (Champagne) Gaudreau of Cowansville, Quebec. In 1952, Helene married Bruno R. Ducharme of Racine, Quebec. Following the wedding, they moved to the United States and settled in Pelham, NH in 1961, where they lived and raised their family until 2018.
Helene was a devoted wife and mother, and imparted a special love for animals. She is remembered by the family for her love for her dogs which were always a part of the family. She enjoyed trips to the beach and the mountains. For many years Helene and Bruno were members of the Marsh Corner Community Church where they were baptized as adults. Most of their enduring friendships were formed there and those friends were especially supportive in her last years.
Helene is survived by her daughters Jackie Ducharme, Johanne McQuaide and her husband Rick, Laurianne McQueen and her husband Stephen, her son Paul Ducharme, and her sister Monique of Cowansville, Quebec. She was also a grandmother and great-grandmother to a large family spanning five generations.
Helene was predeceased by her beloved husband Bruno with whom she shared 66 years of wonderful companionship, her son Michael, her daughter Lisa, and three brothers; Rene, Gerard, and Marcel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 2nd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial will be private.
