Obituary

Irene (Bourdelais) Hobbs, 93, of Salem, NH, passed away on April 7, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on January 5, 1931, to Florence and Octave Hobbs in Andover, MA. Irene grew up in Andover and she graduated from Punchard High, Class of 1949. She has been a resident of the town of Salem, NH for 70 years. Irene worked for AT&T in North Andover as a Layout Operator for 37 years and retired in 1990. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Irene was an avid shopper and some of her favorite places to shop were Macy's, The Mall of America and in New York City. Irene and George loved to travel and visited such places as Alaska, Hawaii and Bermuda.  They also enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling in Switzerland and Sweden. Irene's life was a life well lived with George by her side.

Irene will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 71 years, George Hobbs of Salem, NH, sister Jacqueline Simard of Ormond Beach, FL as well as several nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews and many great-grand nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral services per Irene's request.
