J. Helen Ackerman, 93, a lifelong resident of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. She graduated from Woodbury High School, Class of 1947. She was the daughter of the late Jessie (Ross) and Patrick Sullivan and the last of the 5 Sullivans having been predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Margaret, John and James.

Helen worked in the accounts payable and purchasing department of Lawrence Savings Bank, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH.  Helen was predeceased by her first husband Edward Bernas in 1972 and she was the widow of the late Raymond Ackerman, Jr.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews and she had a close relationship with her niece; Deborah Eggers.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 2 ^nd at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 40 Main St., Salem, NH followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
