James "Russ" Campbell, 96, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family, at the High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA almost two years to the day in the same room as his beloved wife Bernice.

Russ was born in Somerville, MA, the son of the late James Victor and Louisa Ruth (Murchison) Campbell. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. Russ was an electrical engineer at AVCO in Wilmington, MA for over 30 years. Family meant the world to Russ. He enjoyed taking trips to Prince Edward Island, Canada to visit with his family every summer. Russ loved swimming, skiing, gardening, playing his fiddle and harmonica, reading, crossword puzzles, jogging, and watching Jeopardy. He also loved the traditional Canadian board game Crokinole, handmaking boards for many family members.

He is survived by three amazing children: Pamela Donnelly and husband Richard of Wakefield, MA; Scott Campbell and wife Mary of Naples, FL; Sandra LoDuca and husband Jay of Salem, NH; three granddaughters Krista Donnelly, Kayla Donnelly, and Alexa LoDuca; siblings Harold Campbell, Esther Campbell, and Edith MacPhail, all of Canada and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years Bernice E. (Keefe) Campbell, his brother Donald Campbell, and his sister Ada Lowther.

Services will be private for the family. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to High Pointe House, c/o Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Building #9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
