James Flessas, 95, of Salem, NH died Wednesday, September 27 ^th at Salemhaven.

James grew up and was educated in Winthrop, MA and graduated from Winthrop High School. He served his country in the US Navy during WW II. He was a Life Member of the Salem VFW Post #8546. James enjoyed painting, playing poker and trips to Foxwoods. He owned and operated Salem Taxi and Center Taxi.

He was predeceased by his wife Carol (Roy) Flessas.

James is survived by his sons, James Christopher Flessas and wife Lindalee of Northwood, NH and David Rice and partner Janice Almonte of Salem, NH; his daughters, Nancy Peel of Blacksburg, VA, Brenda Murray-Curtin and husband Joseph of Lawrence, MA, Marcia Grieco and husband Robert of Chester, NH and Tammy Westerlund and husband David of Somerfield, FL; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 1 ^st from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with military honors at 4:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Private burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
