Obituary

James Low, 95, passed away on November 12, 2023. He was born on August 5, 1928 in Brechin, Scotland. James was the son of John Low and Bethia (Davidson) Low. James served in the Royal Air Force in Scotland.  He was surrounded by his loving family from near and far.

James and Agnes were married for 72 years. They met at a dance while Agnes was visiting her grandmother in Scotland. This is where their love story began. James traveled to the United States to begin his life with Agnes. The two married on May 16, 1951 at Parker Street Methodist Church in Lawrence, MA. James worked as a machinist at the Oxford Paper Mill and later at J.H. Horne Sons & Co both in Lawrence, MA.

James is survived by his loving wife, Agnes, his daughter Mary Jane Liebke and partner Steven Oliver, and son David and his wife Anita Low. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Helen Pert. He was a proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. James lived a fulfilled life spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Salem, NH. He enjoyed spending his time outside in the yard, camping, fishing, golfing, playing cribbage with Agnes, and was a faithful New England Sports fan. James and his wife watched the Boston Bruins religiously!

The family has chosen to have a private graveside ceremony.
