Janet A. Harless, 78 of Salem, NH passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. She was born in Natick, MA, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Dora (Wigglesworth) Scott.

Mrs. Harless graduated from Wayland High School, Wayland, MA. She worked for 21 years as a lunch lady for the Lancaster Elementary School in Salem. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing the card game Skat and going to yard sales. She also enjoyed taking trips with her husband visiting family in West Virginia and most importantly, spending the holidays and time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years; J.R. Harless of Salem, her daughter; Debra Gendreau and her husband John of Atkinson, NH, her son; William Harless and his wife Louisa of New Market, NH, her brother; Robert Scott of Natick, her sister Dorothy McClellan of Ashland, MA and also by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother; Herbert Scott.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A funeral service will follow Thursday at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
