Janice T. LaFleur, 86 of Epping, NH passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Exeter Hospital. She was born in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Hector and Amanda (Morasse) LaFleur. She was educated in Lawrence Schools.
Janice entered the Sisters on Bon Secours, serving as an LPN until 1970. She was stationed in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, France and Massachusetts and was a part of their Formation Program.
She was employed at Bon Secours – Holy Family in Methuen, MA from 1967 until her retirement. Janice was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and served on the Board of Directors. She was also a member of the St. Clare League of Women, Merrimack College Guild, M.V.P. Women Guild, and served as Treasurer for eight years, President for two years and Recording Secretary.
Janice played the organ in the chapel for 20 years while a sister of the Bon Secours. She loved to crochet, read, listen to music, theatre, musicals, concerts and spending time with family. Janice also loved to travel. Some of the locations she visited include Italy, France, Spain and Ireland.
She was predeceased by her brothers; Walter of Lawrence, MA, Normand of New Jersey and Edmond of Longwood, FL and by her sister; Lorraine of Lawrence, MA. She is survived by her niece; Patricia (LaFleur) Lemieux and her husband Stephen with whom she resided, her sister in law; May LaFleur of Epping and by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 from 9:30am to 11:00am in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am Friday in St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St. Salem, NH.
