Joan (Comeau) Bryant of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on April 25 ^th at Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She grew up in Somerville, MA and was a graduate of St. Clement High School in Medford. Joan was a talented piano player, and in her teen years, joined older sisters Louise and Lorraine to form the "Comeau Sisters" singing group. She also had a very close bond with her younger sisters Marie and Eleanor, and idolized her older brothers Gene and Norman, particularly for their military service during World War II.

Joan met and married her husband Bob in Somerville and they shared 56 years together. She was very content to be an organized homemaker and loving mother of 7 children.   She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and active volunteer of St. Ann's parish for many years, until moving the family to Salem in 1971.

Joan was a Supervisor of the Salem Voter Checklist and a member of the Salem Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. In the early 1970's, she and close friend Doria Palermo formed a Rosary Group that has continued to this day. After attending several novenas at St. Monica Church in the 1980's, she became and remained a devoted member of St. Monica Parish in Methuen.

For several years, Joan enjoyed hosting and attending extended family Christmas parties with her siblings and their children. In earlier years, a highlight would be Joan serving the traditional Acadian dish, "Rappie Pie".

Joan loved family vacations, especially those spent at Popponessett Beach on Cape Cod. She frequently travelled to Nova Scotia where she loved to visit aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was very close to her cousin Simone Comeau of Saulnierville. In 1988, she organized the first "Comeau-tion" family reunion in Comeauville for almost 400 attendees, and she kept the tradition going through 1998. She was the family historian with records dating back to the 1600's.

Joan is predeceased by her husband Bob, son David, and grandsons Mark and Sean Bryant, her parents Walter and Alma Comeau, and her brothers and sisters mentioned above.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Gene and wife Kelly, Robert and wife Karen, Karen and husband Joseph Leonard, all of Salem; Alan and wife Terry of Brewer, ME; Ken and wife Dorothy of Chichester, NH; Diane and husband Gary Kierstead of Northfield, NH; and daughter-in-law Donna Bryant Winston of Riegelsville, PA.

Joan will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Robert Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Erin Hall, Joselyn Bryant, Jason Bryant, Adam Bryant, Allyssa Gilbert, Christine Thompson, Ann Marie Bryant, Andrea Bryant, Jessica Klagmann, Joshua Bryant, Bethany Adelman, Michael Bryant, Lee-Ann Underwood, Justin Kierstead and Noah Kierstead.

She was also blessed with 15 loving great grandchildren: Chantel LaRochelle, Ryan Bryant, Kasey Gilbert, Alex Bryant, Trenton Bryant, Benjamin Bryant, Maggie Bryant, Elke Klagmann, Victor Bryant, Mia Underwood, Aiden Bryant, Calvin Bryant, Shay Bryant, River Klagmann, and Cora Thompson.

Joan is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
