Joan M. (Chulada) Ferguson, 74, a long time resident of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, June 19th at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, MA.

She was born and educated in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Bertha (Lukauskus) and John Chulada. She graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1962. She worked at the IRS in Andover, MA for many years. Joan also managed a few retail stores at the Mall at Rockingham Park.

Joan enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was an avid reader and she also loved animals. She attended many American Indian Pow Wows. In her later years, she very much enjoyed television, movies, and spending time with her family at her home in Salem, NH.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Edward Ferguson of Salem, NH and her children, Erik Ferguson of Salem, NH and Karen Ferguson of Shapleigh, ME.

There are no calling hours. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 28th at 10:30 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Please arrive for the service by 10:15 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
