John F. Bowen, 69, of Derry NH passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 13, 2022.  He was born in Melrose, MA on January 26, 1952, a son of Donald Bowen and Florence Sinclair.  He was an amazing son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.  He was a truck driver.  John was a big NASCAR fan and New England Patriots fan.  He loved spending time with his family.  He loved telling stories and was known as a jokester.  John was a caring person and loved by so many.  He could make friends with anyone anywhere he went.

He is survived by his daughter; Mandy Watts and husband Aaron Watts of Derry, NH, son; James Bowen and partner Caitlin Fainer of Derry, NH, daughter; Shelby Gray and husband Dave Gray of Deerfield, NH, by five grandchildren; Brandon Watts, Ryan Watts and Karlee Watts of Derry, NH, Kyleigh Gray and Ella Gray of Deerfield, NH.  He is also survived by his siblings; Donna Broadhead and husband David Broadhead of Salem, NH, Diane McCarthy and her late husband Chicky McCarthy of Melrose, MA, Scott Bowen and Donna Bowen of Amesbury, MA and by lots of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father; Donald Bowen, by his mother; Florence Sinclair and husband George Sinclair and by his siblings; Richard Bowen, James Bowen and Donald Bowen, Jr.

A celebration of life service honoring John will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the VFW in Derry, 18 Railroad Avenue, Derry, NH.  Feel free to bring a dish if you would like as it will be a pot luck.
