John Henry Caron, Sr., of Salem, NH, entered the gates of Heaven on August 27, 2017, to be welcomed by his loving wife, Florence (Thurlow) Caron who passed in 2014. John, also known as Jake, was 92 years loved.

In his early days, John served with the US Navy aboard the USS Abnaki (AT96) from 1943-1945. He was proud of being a WWII Veteran.  Following the service, John was a longtime employee, until retirement, of Lucent Technologies of North Andover, MA.  John was a lifelong avid fan of the New York Giants football team. He enjoyed playing 45's card games at the VFW, deep sea fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed times with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left behind to mourn him are his son, John Henry Caron, Jr and wife Cynthia, of Londonderry; son, Russell A. Caron, of Lunenberg, MA; his children by marriage, Daughter, Terry Lund and husband Paul, of Atkinson, NH; Daughter, Sharon Roberts, Plaistow, NH; Son, Thomas Belanger and wife Patricia, of Sandown, NH, and Frank Belanger, of Atkinson, NH. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Desrochers, of Methuen, MA, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Also greeting him in heaven are his parents, Alfred Caron, Sr. and Mary (Blott), his son by marriage, Barry F. Belanger who passed in 2016, and brothers, Alfred Caron, Jr. and Ernest "Bernie" Caron.

Calling Hours will be held at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH on Wed., Aug. 30, 2017 from 4 - 8 pm.  A Service of Christian Burial will be on Thurs, Aug. 31, 2017 at 9 am at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside prayer with burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
