John M. Wells, 62, a lifelong resident of Salem, NH passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 13, 2018 while with family and friends at his brother's camp in Berlin, NH. He was born in Methuen, MA, a son of the late William J. and Hildred M. (Haynes) Wells, Jr.

John was a social, charismatic and lovable guy. He was a great father and mentor for not only his children but for many. He loved spending time with his family, and was deeply proud of them. John was self-employed in the construction business. He started his first company Manford Remodeling and after several years formed Millennium Construction. John was a generous person with a heart that matched no other. He enjoyed spending time at his residence in Florida and had been a member of the Spicket Lodge #85 F&AM in Salem. He loved Circle-Track racing, was a die-hard New England sports fan and had a love and mutual respect for animals that could match no other.

He is survived by his children; Todd Wells of Manchester, NH, Vicki Wells-MacInnis of Windham, NH and Jake Wells and his wife Jennifer of Salem, NH, six grandchildren; Robert, Ashleigh, Jarrett, Riley, Morgan and Grace and by nine of his siblings; Rick Wells of Brooklyn, NY, Ron Wells and his wife Aggie of Knoxville, TN, Judi Phelps and her husband Howard Phelps of Gilford, NH, Randy Wells of Manchester, NH, Jay Wells of Jupiter, FL, Peter Wells and his wife Lisa of Salem, NH, Jeri-Lyn Thomas of Manassas, VA, Jo-Ellen Wells of Salem, NH and Janie Devaux of Bristol, NH. He is also survived by his former wife; Alice Wells of Lawrence, MA, his significant other; Janet Gilchrist of Leesburg, FL, his son-in-law; David MacInnis of Salem, NH  and also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers; William Haynes, Robert Wells and Lawrence Wells.
