It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Joseph J. Trovato. He passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022, at The Arbors of Bedford, NH after a period of declining health. He was born in Lawrence, MA on March 20, 1934. He spent many years in Methuen, MA before retiring and becoming a resident of Salem, NH in 2012.
Joseph was raised and educated in Lawrence, MA. He was the youngest son of the late Giovanni and Francesca (Basile) Trovato. He attended Holy Rosary Grammar School and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1951. He would then go on to attend the University of Massachusetts and complete his degree in engineering from Northeastern University while attending night school. Joseph was first employed at GTE Sylvania and then he began a lengthy and rewarding lifelong career as an electrical engineer at Raytheon Company, retiring in 1992. During his retirement years, he spent winters in Largo, FL with his wife Kathleen. He enjoyed volunteering for the homeless, loved playing cards, golfing, dancing, sailing, and traveling with friends.
Joseph was never one to sit still for very long. His life was one of social activities, generosity and compassion and he will be missed by all. Joseph was a very kind, loving and generous man who had a life-long devotion to his family and friends. He had a soothing presence, a practical point of view and was always quick to make friends. He was a true gentleman.
He and Kathleen enjoyed traveling with family and longtime friends with trips to Florida, California, North and South Dakota, Canada, etc. Joseph and Kathleen always loved attending the many activities of their grandsons.
Joseph was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
Joseph is survived by his wife Kathleen R. (Titone) Trovato with whom he would have celebrated 68 years of marriage on February 14, 2022. Survivors also include his children: Patricia A. Trovato of Seabrook, NH, David M. Trovato of Windham, NH, grandsons Michael T. Trovato; Joseph J. Trovato and his partner, Tierra Lynch; and Jeffrey J.
