Joyce Thompson, 75, of Salem, NH passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry, NH. She was born and educated in Salem, MA, one of 17 children born to Henrietta (Peach) and Gordon Shattuck.

Joyce worked as a nurse's aide for 32 years at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Salem, NH and she was a member of the bereavement group. Joyce enjoyed a good meal, liked being near the ocean and she loved spending time with her grandson.

Joyce will be sadly missed by her son, William J. Thompson, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Sandown, NH; her grandson, William J. Thompson, III of Sandown, NH and by her two sisters, Jennie Gambale of Swampscott, MA and Pat George of Saugus, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Thompson, Sr.

A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 9:30am to 10:30am followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem, NH.
