Karen Weinstein, 74 of Salem, NH passed away on January 30, 2020 at her home in Salem. Karen was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Irving and Ruth (Newburgh) Isenberg.
Karen earned her Master's Degree in teaching, taught both kindergarten and grade school, and also served as a special education consultant. She enjoyed tennis, biking, sculling, boating and walking.
She was a proud and active Zionist. She served as President of NH4Israel, a pro-Israel organization, for 11 years. Karen was also active with the greater Boston organization CJUI (Christians and Jews United for Israel), and received their prestigious Genesis Award in 2011. She always said "I want my grandchildren to know that I fought to protect the Jewish people and for a stronger Israel and partnership with the United States." She is sure to achieve this goal.
She is survived by her husband, Marty Weinstein; by her three sons, Wess Weinstein; Brett Weinstein and his wife Jennette; Shad Weinstein and his wife Rachel; her two beautiful granddaughters, Isabella and Sarah; and by her favorite walking partner, Maggie the dog.
A burial service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11:00am in the Plymouth Rock Cemetery, 1000 Pearl St., Brockton, MA.
