Kathleen A.
Piercy
d. Dec 5, 2021
Salem
Kathleen A. Piercy, 72, of Salem, NH passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in the Salemhaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was born and raised in Lynn, MA, the daughter of the late Edward and Doris "Dot" (LeBlanc) McKay.
Mrs. Piercy had been coming to the family's camp in the section of Salem known as Little Saugus since she was very young. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn. She finally settled in Salem, moving here in 1979. She was one of the first women Warehouse Supervisors for GE in Lynn, MA. Mrs. Piercy then turned her attention to being a proud homemaker. She wanted to make sure her family was always more than provided for. She enjoyed the neighborhood events and was active in the Grove neighborhood. Mrs. Piercy had also been president of the Millville Lake Protective Association. She loved to camp, spend time at the beach, crochet and was a regular at area craft fairs. Mrs. Piercy absolutely loved thrift shopping and was always proud of her treasures. If there was such a thing as a "Professional Thrifter" it was her. Her favorite thing to say after finding a treasure was "Guess how much I paid for it."
She is survived by two sons; Douglas R. Piercy and his wife Hisako of Quincy, MA and Douglas R. Piercy and his wife Michelle of Merrimac, MA, by nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren, by her brother; Kenneth McKay, Sr. of Lynn, by her sister in law; Laura McKay of Hamden, CT and by her beloved dog; Sophie. She was predeceased by her husband; Douglas S. Piercy in 2011 and by her brother; Edward McKay.
Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 11:30am to 1:30pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral service will follow Saturday at 1:30pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to a charity that is closest to your heart.
