Lawrence "Larry" J. Connearney, 88, a 54 year resident of Salem, NH, formerly of Cambridge, MA passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cambridge, a son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Garnett) Connearney.

Larry spent his career in construction as a Union Carpenter with Local #339. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, playing cards and playing pool. He was a member of the Pelham Fish & Game Club and was a life member of the NRA. Larry's biggest enjoyment and accomplishment was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years; Joan B. (Hawksley) Connearney of Salem, by his three daughters; Patricia Soucie and her husband Clayton of Dracut, MA, Jo-Ann Sline and her husband Joseph of Auburn, NH and Deborah Sarkis and her husband Henry of Methuen, MA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Lynette and her husband Joseph, Janelle, Justin, Kevin, Derek and Zach. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren; Madeline, Lilly, Isabelle, Abigail and Caroline, by two brothers; Robert and John Connearney and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son; Kevin Connearney in 2005 and by his two brothers; Francis Connearney and Michael Roche.

Due to the current covid-19 pandemic, the visiting hours will be private for the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 8, 2021 at 12:00pm in Mary Queen of Peace, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem. Please meet at church by 11:45am. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem. Masks are required and social distancing must be followed per CDC guidelines.
