Leo J. Feeney, Jr., 83, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021. Leo was born in Boston, MA, a son of the late Leo J. and Marie (Mitchell) Feeney, Sr.
Following his high school graduation Leo proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marines. During his working career he had a number of jobs but none he was more proud of than being a drummer. He played from Boston to NH in local bands for over 30 years and described himself as "a rock star drummer playing 15 years of great rock with Ashes to Ashes." Leo loved all sports in general, but no team more than his beloved NY Giants. He also enjoyed going out to eat at T-Bones. In recent months Leo enjoyed spending time with his grand dog Gabriella.
Leo is survived by his children; Linda Samperi and her husband David of Salem, NH, Karen Brown of Manchester, NH, Mark R. Feeney and his wife Terrilynne of Derry, NH and Kevin P. Feeney and his wife Cheri of Manchester. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Derek, Patrick, Chad, Brian, Kyle, Ryan, Amanda and Haley, by three great-grandchildren; Stella, Mason and Norah and by his brother; James "Jim" Heavey of Concord, NH. He was predeceased by his wife; Gail F. (Dobbins) Feeney in 2011, by his son; Paul M. Feeney and by two brothers; Paul Feeney and Robert "Bobby" Heavey.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral service will follow on Friday at 12:00pm in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516, to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
