Leo Ray Wetherington, 77, of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, July 6 ^th at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Schneegattern, Austria he was the son of the late Hilde (Moosmayer) and Chester Wetherington. Leo was born into a military family and grew up in Austria, Germany and Japan before moving to the States when he was 11. He became a US Citizen in 1960. Leo was a truck driver for the Teamsters Union, Local 49. He worked for Transgas in Lowell. MA.

Leo enjoyed sports, horse racing and playing the lottery. He loved Elvis and the Miami Dolphins. Leo was the ultimate storyteller and he had a story about everything. He will be remembered as The Man, The Myth and The Legend.

Leo will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Dolly Wetherington of Salem, NH; his four children, Lisa Rogers of Manchester, NH, Melissa Kurps and husband Michael of Danville, NH, James Wetherington and wife Monica of Derry, NH and Michael Noonan of Salem, NH; his four siblings, Ronald Wetherington, Edward Wetherington, Susanna Robinson and Evelyn Mercer, all of North Carolina; his four beloved grandchildren, Kally, Michaela, Demery and Makenzie who were the light of his life and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Chester Wetherington.

Visitation will be Monday, July 11 ^th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 12 at 10:30 AM in the Douglas & Johnson Chapel.
