Lillian R. Schwarzenberg, 97, of Manchester, NH, formerly of Londonderry, NH and Methuen, MA, passed away on March 16, 2026, in Manchester, NH.

Lillian was born in Methuen on January 19, 1929, daughter of the late Walter and Hedwig (Hattie) Lange Ritter. She graduated from Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen, Class of 1946, and McIntosh Business School in Lawrence, MA.

She was employed as a secretary at Lawrence Pumps Inc. and later at H.K. Webster (Blue Seal Feeds) from which she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her family and over the years crocheted items and knitted many articles, namely mittens, many of which were donated or sold to benefit causes she supported. She also knitted lap blankets for the fire department to provide people in need with some "homemade warmth". She was also an avid collector of Hummels and traveled to several conventions.

Religiously, Lillian was a fifty-plus-year member of the former United Presbyterian Church of Lawrence and served many years on the Board of Trustees. Most recently, she was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church of the Merrimack Valley.

In earlier years, she enjoyed camping trips throughout New Hampshire with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and was lovingly referred to as "horseshoe butt" by her family for her remarkable good luck at the table. An equally lucky dominoes player, she delighted in friendly competition, but mostly enjoyed the time spent together (while dominating the scoreboard). Lillian loved Sunday dinners with her family, occasions filled with folding laundry to "earn my supper," good food, and togetherness. She was resourceful and an avid recycler and re-user of all things. Lillian also loved birdwatching (Cardinals were her favorite) and doing jigsaw puzzles. After moving into an assisted living center, she happily beat everyone at bingo on Thursdays and participated in crafting days, corn-hole games, and "keepy-uppy" with a balloon when her great-grandchildren would come to play. Above all, she will be remembered as a caring and loving presence in the lives of those who knew her; a Nana to all.

Lillian will be dearly missed by her sons, Carl E. and his wife Carol of South Dakota; Roy W. and wife Julie of Maryland; son-in-law Thomas Dube of NH; beloved honorary member of the family Nancy (Tuminowski) Pietrantonio of NH; grandchildren, Amy and Megan Schwarzenberg of Ohio, Michael Dube and wife Ammu of NH, Michelle (Dube) Dressler and husband Brad of NH, Timothy Dube of KY, Nicholas Schwarzenberg and wife Annie of MD, and Emily Schwarzenberg of MN. She also leaves great-grandchildren Jake, Hannah, Owen, Meera and Neil. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Edmund W. Schwarzenberg, Jr. (2025) of Londonderry; her daughter Carol R. Dube of NH; her twin brother Harold Ritter and his wife Joanne of North Andover.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23rd from 10:30-11:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
