Linda Cornwell, 77, of Hampstead, NH passed away on Sunday, September 20th at the Elliot Hospital.

Born into a military family, she spent her early years living in several places, including Greece and France, before settling in Salem. She was a member of the first graduating class of Salem High School in 1966 and went on to graduate from Castle Secretarial College.

Linda dedicated many years to the Salem School Department, retiring as Senior Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. She was deeply involved in the schools throughout her life and was an active PTA member while raising her sons. She also served for many years as secretary of the High Hopes Foundation.

An avid reader and talented crafter, Linda enjoyed needlepoint, cross-stitching, and crocheting. She lovingly made Christmas stockings for everyone in her family and was an active member of a book club. Linda loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, William Cornwell and his wife Kelly of Londonderry, NH and Ryan Cornwell of Derry, NH; her sister, Sharon Pezone and her husband Paul of Hampton, NH; her two grandchildren, Jackson and Kendall and three nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 25, from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a service at 11AM at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
